EFL Indonesian Students’ Voices: Quilbott as a Viable an AI Assistance in Writing
Abstract
QuillBot is a practical option for students seeking AI assistance in English writing, offering a viable alternative to enhance their writing skills. By providing efficient AI-driven rewriting capabilities, QuillBot aids students in improving their English writing by offering a reliable and user-friendly platform for linguistic refinement. This study aims to investigate students' voices about the Quilbott application as a viable AI assistance in English writing. Descriptive qualitative research is used in this study. The participants in this study consisted of 6 seventh-semester students currently engaged in writing projects at Universitas Hamzanwadi chosen through purposive sampling. Interviews were conducted to gather the data, and documentation, such as audio recordings during the interviews, was employed to reinforce the research findings. The results of the study indicate that QuillBot significantly aids students in their projects by assisting in paraphrasing, improving grammar, enhancing vocabulary, elevating writing quality, and preventing plagiarism. In conclusion, QuillBot emerges as a practical and effective alternative for students seeking assistance in English writing through the integration of AI technology.
