Evaluation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Facilities and Infrastructure Management in Realized School Digitalization at SMP It in Mataram City

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has driven digital transformation across various aspects of education, including school management and the learning process. The success of school digitalization is greatly influenced by the effectiveness of ICT facilities and infrastructure management, which includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. However, various obstacles are still found in the management of ICT facilities and infrastructure that impact the optimization of school digitalization. This study aims to evaluate the results of the implementation of ICT facilities and infrastructure management in supporting school digitalization at Integrated Islamic Junior High Schools (SMP IT) in Mataram City. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model. The research locations include SMP IT Anak Soleh Mataram, SMP IT Abu Hurairah Putra, and SMP IT Abata Lombok. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was obtained through source triangulation and technical triangulation.

The results of the study indicate that in terms of context, the three schools have a strong commitment to developing school digitalization as part of improving the quality of education. In terms of input, ICT facilities and infrastructure are relatively adequate, supported by school policies, human resources, and digital infrastructure. In terms of process, the planning, procurement, inventory, utilization, maintenance, and supervision of ICT facilities and infrastructure have been implemented systematically, although several obstacles remain related to budget limitations, equipment maintenance, and equitable distribution of technology use. In terms of product, the management of ICT facilities and infrastructure has made a positive contribution to the implementation of digital learning, technology-based school administration, and the improvement of the digital competence of school residents. Thus, the evaluation results indicate that the management of ICT facilities and infrastructure at IT Junior High Schools in Mataram City has been running well and supports the realization of school digitalization, although continuous improvement is still needed in the aspects of infrastructure development, maintenance, and improving human resource competence.
