The Relationship between Physical Activity, Physical Fitness, and Learning Motivation with PJOK Learning Achievement in State High School Students in Temanggung Regency
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationship between physical activity, physical fitness, and learning motivation with learning achievement in Physical Education, Sports, and Health or PJOK among public senior high school students in Temanggung Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The participants were 359 grade X and XI students selected through proportional sampling from six public senior high schools in Temanggung Regency. Physical activity was measured using the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents or PAQ-A. Physical fitness was measured using the Tes Kebugaran Siswa Indonesia or TKSI. Learning motivation was measured using a Likert scale questionnaire, while PJOK learning achievement was obtained from students’ report card scores. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, linearity test, correlation analysis, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that physical activity had a significant positive relationship with PJOK learning achievement (r = 0.693, p < 0.05), with an effective contribution of 22.66%. Physical fitness also had a significant positive relationship with PJOK learning achievement (r = 0.604, p < 0.05), with an effective contribution of 21.76%. Learning motivation had a significant positive relationship with PJOK learning achievement (r = 0.673, p < 0.05), with an effective contribution of 13.98%. Simultaneously, physical activity, physical fitness, and learning motivation were significantly related to PJOK learning achievement (F = 168.233, p < 0.05). The adjusted R Square value was 0.584, indicating that the three variables contributed 58.40% to PJOK learning achievement. These findings suggest that PJOK learning achievement is closely related to students’ movement habits, physical capacity, and motivation to learn.
