The Effectiveness of the Reciprocal Teaching Learning Model Assisted by Digital Media on the Critical Thinking Skills of Junior High School Student’s

Abstract


This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by digital media on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in algebraic form material. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was 20 grade VII students selected by simple random sampling. The instrumens used were observation sheets for the implementation of learning and critical thinking skills tests consisting of 4 essay questions. The pretest results showed an average score of 30.19, while the posttest average increased to 70.14. The increase occurred in all indicators of critical thinking skills, with the highest increase of 52.78% in the indicator of drawing conclusions and providing logical reasoning. The normality test showed that the data was normally distributed and the results of the paired sample t-test showed a  of  which was smaller than the  and  which indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These results indicate that the reciprocal learning model assisted by digital media is effective in improving students' critical mathematical thinking skills.
